Plans do not always come together

Look at building plans, an architect will spend months if not years drawing and designing the structure. Making channels and alley ways for conduit, water pipes, and AC ducts. However, when the building starts to take shape there are change orders, calls for the architect and engineers to rush to the job site because of a problem. The pipes cannot go where the architect drew them. The AC vent needs to be removed, or relocated. Even though the architect did his/her best to account for everything, when the pieces start to come together modifications or deletions need to be made. This happens all the time. In fact a lot of subcontractors plan for the change orders.

The same is true for your individual plans, either it be a sales plan, a life plan, or just a plan to cook a meal. Modifications will need to take place as you start to act. Outside forces do not know the plan or the script and will play along with their script, which is different than yours. You will need to make modifications on the fly.

But let’s see what kind of a building will be built if we eliminate the plans all together, and let the builder and subcontractors build on the fly. Do you think they will even come close to the original design? Do you think they will even work as a cohesive unit? You see without a plan and a vision, the teams cannot work towards the same goal, they cannot envision the final result, they cannot make modifications. The building will not get finished.

Have a plan, be prepared to make modifications as you go, but go. You can do it!
