Take the Shots

Life is full of opportunities, the only way to take advantage of these opportunities is to step up and take a shot.

When I was younger I enjoyed watching the archery competition during the Olympics. Seeing these athletes stand so still, their breathing paced, the concentration on the target, and then the release. It looked so effortless, but I knew they spent thousands of hours practicing. What I did not know, until much later in life, is that they missed a lot of shots too. It was through theses misses that they were able to learn and fine tune their abilities to master their shooting.

The opportunities we get in life, we may miss some of them, most likely most of them, but if we do not take a shot, we will miss them all. But when we do take a shot and when we miss, we must learn from those errors and make ourselves better.

You see, all opportunities are not meant for us to obtain, but we can capitalize on all opportunities and learn from them.

In short, do not be afraid to take a shot, be prepared for the miss. Learn from it. Also, be prepared for the hit, and be ready for the successes that it will bring.

Go after the day and keep taking shots!
